Ramel Lee, Managing Partner
Ramel Lee is the Founder and Managing Partner of RD Lee Capital Partners LLC, a boutique private equity firm that builds and acquires small businesses across hotels, commercial real estate, security, logistics, and alternative investments. He grew up in a one-bedroom apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and spent twenty-two years with MTA Bridges and Tunnels, rising from Bridge and Tunnel Officer to Deputy Chief. After being passed over for promotion, he started building in the margins, launching RDL Security Solutions in 2016 and RDL Logistic Solutions in 2020 while still wearing the badge. He retired in November 2024 to make the margins the center. His track record includes co-ownership of the Staybridge Suites in Scottsburg, Indiana and the Hampton Inn & Suites in Indianapolis, Indiana, an Indiana portfolio acquired for roughly $17M and sold for roughly $22M about four years later. He built RDL Logistic Solutions from zero to $14M in revenue and exited in June 2024, and he continues to run RDL Security Solutions, a seven-figure business. Ramel has invested in more than 15 companies as a GP, LP, and solo investor, spanning private credit, venture funds, equity crowdfunding, and film.
